THE WEDDING: The formal destination wedding was attended by 500 guests. meet the couple: Dara, the daughter of David and Shanea Rakowski (well known for their philanthropic interests) is completing a Master of Science degree at New York University and interning at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Jay, son of Paul (president of Toronto Blue Jays) and Gina Godrey has been heralded as a "designer to watch"™ by Women'˜s Wear Daily. He designed the bride'˜s gown, which was embroidered with gold lace and 30,000 tiny 24k gold-plated Swarovski crystals. His design for the bridesmaidsвЂ˜ gowns was in black silk organza. Although both grew up in Toronto, they met on a blind date in New York. Dara was working for Giorgio Armani and Jay was on Wall Street (before he exchanged being a financier for fashion).
