Toronto

Toronto has truly evolved into a world-class city - it shows in the confidence and diversity of its inhabitants, and the international recognition it receives. It’s a thriving economic and cultural metropolis, contrasting its skyscrapers with its parks, boardwalks and ethnic ‘villages.’

What To Do
Depending on the time of year, check out the Toronto International Film Festival, Caribana, Canadian National Exhibition, and professional baseball, hockey, basketball, football and racing.

Toronto is the third most important live theatre city in the world; take in the shows of your choice. Attend a performance of The National Ballet of Canada, Canadian Opera Company or Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Explore Casa Loma, a castle on a hill in the middle of the city, or the works shown at the Art Gallery of Ontario. In summer, take a romantic ferry ride across the harbour to the Toronto Islands, for a great view of the skyline and a stroll through beautiful gardens, lagoons and tree-shaded spaces, without a car in sight. Take a trip to the top of the world’s tallest building, CN Tower, where you can witness a breathtaking panorama of the city, or be thrilled by looking through the glass floor. Afterward, dine in fine style at the top of the world, at 360, the tower’s revolving restaurant.

Dining/Shopping
Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world - it is home to people speaking over a hundred different languages. As a result, you can try just about any type of cuisine in Toronto’s many restaurants, from Chinatown on Spadina Avenue, Greektown on the Danforth, or College Street’s Little Italy. Toronto is also a shopper’s paradise, with the 300 stores of the downtown Eaton Centre, an underground labyrinth of shops called The Path, high-end boutiques of Yorkville, shops on the Harbourfront, and funky haunts on Queen Street West. Whether you want to buy art or haute couture, it can be had in Toronto.
